Bamboo design, a versatile style

Bamboo is one of my favorite designs that I use in both furniture and doors. The graceful trunks and simple leaf patterns allow it to be used in many areas, such as legs on chairs, adding a simple touch on a door, or even a bamboo forest carving covering a large entryway. I hope someday to do a large carved mural featuring bamboo in someone's home, I think that it would be a fantastic piece of artwork.

The bamboo design can be carved and fused glass or carved wood, or even done in bronze. Better yet, a combination of these mediums with a bird or two in the branches and a bumble bee flying around looking for a new home. The bamboo design can also be used in various design styles such as contemporary, traditional, Asian, or French to name a few. It is also a very peaceful design style, capturing the tranquility of nature. Below are a few of my entryway's with a bamboo design style.
