Bedroom Set Lake Tahoe

This bedroom set was made for a home in Lake Tahoe. It is a beautiful furniture set, including a headboard and bed frame, blanket chest, tall chest and chest of drawers. It is made of some of the most beautiful cherry I’ve worked with in my career. I found the wood at a Pennsylvania saw mill that specializes in a number of different hardwoods.

The wood was cut from a single cherry tree that was 50 feet tall and over 36” in diameter in various thicknesses, then kiln dried. Besides this the size of this tree, it is all heavily curly figured, which is absolutely amazing. The client didn’t want any of the panels to be glued up for width, but to be made up of single wide boards. To find such beautiful wood was incredible and to make a single bedroom set using all the wood from the same tree was a woodworker’s dream.

The design includes carved trees and floral designs and is unique in itself especially on such beautiful wood. It was such a great project to be involved in. I delivered the furniture set to the home in Tahoe and set everything up so I got to see everything in its place. The photos really don’t do the bedroom set justice for how fantastic it turned out.
