Ornamental Clavos and Nailheads

As I mentioned in a previous blog, my uncle, on my father's side of the family of Irish and Swedish descent, and his father were blacksmiths.  I love combining wood, glass and metal arts together into my projects.  It adds a whole new dimension and depth to my work.

Pictured here are over 200 hand-forged iron ornamental clavos and nailheads. I made them to use on some distressed driveway and pedestrian gates I am making for a home in La Jolla. They are forged to match the clavos used on an old entry door for the same home. When the gates are completed I will post pictures of them on my blog. But until then, I thought you might like to see the clavos and nailheads pictured alone.
