Cherry Blossom Door

This door was definitely a fun entry to make.  I love to combine different materials, in this case domestic cherry wood and carved-fused glass.  The clients were great to work with, the woman being from Japan with a Feng Shui design influence.  The house in Connecticut is a contemporary design with Arts and Crafts elements.  The integration of the glass and carved wood is one of my specialties and this door really turned out wonderful.  When the project was completed,  I pre-hung the door with all it's hardware, crated it, and shipped it off to the  Connecticut home.  I usually prefer to deliver and install my doors myself, but the clients assured me they had a great contractor who could complete the installation.  All in all, it was a fun and successful project.
